Barber, Grollman Earn AAC Weekly Honors

IRVING, Tex. - Maddie Barber and Taylor Grollman each earned their first AAC weekly honors this season, announced by the conference on Monday. Barber was named Defensive Player of the Week while Grollman earned Goalkeeper of the Week.
Barber was all over the field in Saturday's 13-8 win over East Carolina, scoring her second goal of the season and dishing her third assist of the season in addition to four draw controls, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers. She now has four games this season with at least five ground balls and three with three or more caused turnovers, and ranks top-three in the league and top-15 nationally in both categories.
Grollman made nine saves on 17 shots on Saturday, marking her eighth game this season with a .50 save percentage or better. She maintains the AAC lead with a .524 save percentage overall and 8.21 goals against average.
Barber, Grollman, and the rest of the Owls will return to Howarth Field this Saturday, continuing conference play at noon vs. Old Dominion.
