Temple Mourns the Loss of Men's Track Alum Gert Koerner

PHILADELPHIA – Gert Koerner, who competed on the Temple University Men's Track team in the 1960s and a longtime member of the Owls' Oldtimers Club, passed away on March 19. He was 83.
A native of Tallin, Estonia, Mr. Koerner grew up in Philadelphia and attended Overbrook High School where he was an All-City champion in shot put 1958 & 1959. He earned an athletic scholarship to Temple University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1965.
