Men's Crew Enjoys Success at Knecht Cup Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - The No. 23 Temple University men's crew team made its extra day of waiting worth it, winning multiple events at the Knecht Cup Regatta on Sunday The event was delayed by a day due to rough water on Saturday. 
The Varsity 8+, rowing in Professor Gratson and comprised of Grace Crosby (coxswain), Dimitrios Stasinos (stroke), Brandon Van Vuuren, Adam Oliver, Kevin Harvell, Rares Nechita, Kenneth Raynor, Brayden MacBride and Pascal Evans (bow) won its heat in a time of 5:55.95 to advance to the final. The Owls then claimed silver, crossing the finish line in 5:58.16.
Temple's four-man boats were exceptional on the day. The V4+ took home both gold and silver medals as the "A" boat of Frederick Mehra (coxswain), Konstantin Kluge (stroke), Lars Veckenstedt, Lukas Wojciechowski and Sebastian Rawson (bow) took Angus to a first place time of 6:40.79. The "B", competing in Silky '87 earned second as Crosby (coxswain), John Curran (stroke), Ryan Yates, Ryan Spellman and Stephen Gloyd (bow) finished in 6:44.26.
The 2V4+ took home gold as well with Robert Hsu (coxswain), Nate Bingham (stroke), Joe Sayer, Jacob Trump and Andrew Farkas (bow) racing Mirabella to a 6:58.88 clocking, the only boat in the event to finish below seven minutes.
TU is back in action on Saturday, April 20, traveling to Lake Quinsigimond in Massachusetts to face off against No. 13 Boston University, No. 22 Holy Cross, Hobart and Marist. First race is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
