PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football linebacker Jordan Magee was drafted by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft. Magee was selected by Washington with the fourth pick in the fifth round, the 139th selection overall.

Magee led Temple last season with 80 tackles and 14 tackles for loss. He ranked second in the AAC with 1.39 tackles for loss per game and third in the AAC with 7.89 tackles per game. The Dover, Del., native was a two-time team captain and earned All-AAC and All-ECAC recognition. An Advertising major with a 3.24 GPA, Magee also earned the prestigious recognition of earning a single digit jersey number, which is awarded to the toughest players who represent the program to the best ability on and off the field.

"Jordan Magee is ready to play at the next level. He has earned the right to get a chance to play in the NFL," said Temple head coach Stan Drayton. "He's going to do well when he gets that opportunity for the Washington Commanders, for sure. We saw that every day. We knew he was going to test well [at the NFL Combine].

"Jordan is a great young man. A man of high character, he holds himself accountable. He's grown as a leader to a point where he holds others accountable. On the field, he combines size, speed, a strong will and football IQ, that can make him an NFL linebacker for a long time."

Magee was just the second player selected from the American Athletic Conference in this year's draft. Rice wide receiver Luke McCaffery was selected in the third round.

Former Temple running back Ra'Mahn Davis, who earned freshman All-America honors for the Owls in 2019 before transferring, was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round.
