Former Owls Join the NFL Ranks
4.29.24 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – This past weekend the National Football League held its 2024 Draft. Three members of last year's Temple Football team, and one other, Re'Mahn Davis, who began his college career at Temple but transferred to play his final seasons elsewhere, are now chasing their dreams of playing in the NFL.
Davis was selected by Buffalo in the fourth round with the 128th pick. The running back earned All-Freshman honors as an Owl in 2019 before transferring to Vanderbilt and then Kentucky to finish out his collegiate career.
Jordan Magee was next to have his name called when the Washington Commanders selected the linebacker in the fifth round with the 139th overall selection.
Following the Draft, tight end David Martin-Robinson signed as undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans and linebacker Yvandy Rigby signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Martin-Robinson led the way for Temple's offense in 2023, earning a spot on the All-AAC and All-ECAC teams. He was a staple for the Owls' offense last season, tallying 40 receptions and 537 receiving yards. The Landisville, Pa., native reached the 1,000-yard mark in receiving for his career, becoming just the third Temple tight end to accomplish the feat.
Rigby has been among the Owls leading tacklers for the last three seasons, surpassing the 200-plateau in career stops. In 2023 he was leading all FBS players in tackles in mid-September before and injury sidelined him for four games. The Turks and Caicos native, who played his high school football in Egg Harbor Township, N.J., finished third in the AAC with 8.4 tackles per game.
This gives Temple 16 active players participating in NFL camps this summer (the numbers include all players who earned their degree from Temple such as Braswell and Ebiketie; Davis is not counted).
Magee, Martin-Robinson, and Rigby join the following former 13 Owls currently in the NFL:
Atlanta Falcons – Arnold Ebiketie
