PHILADELPHIA - Temple lacrosse's Belle Mastropietro and Katie Shallow added to their 2024 accolades on Thursday, with the duo being named Honorable Mention All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse. Both were named to the USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American team last week.
Mastropietro was named an All-American for the third time. The three-time AAC Midfielder of the Year, four-time All-AAC First Team selection, and three-time Tewaraaton Award nominee is the first three-time All-American in program history since Alex and Claudia Ovchinnikoff from 1996-98. She led the Owls and ranked among the conference's leaders in goals, assists, points, draw controls, and free position goals. She concludes her storied career as the program's all-time leader in draw controls and as one of five players in program history to eclipse 250 career points.
Shallow adds her second All-American honor to her AAC Defensive Player of the Year award and three career All-AAC selections. She led the Owls and ranked among the top five in the country in caused turnovers and ground balls this season, setting program single season and career records for caused turnovers and ranking top ten in single season and career ground balls. Her 140 career caused turnovers are also fourth among active Division I players.
