PHILADELPHIA - Temple lacrosse's Belle Mastropietro and Katie Shallow were named to the IWLCA's All-Mid Atlantic Region second team, announced on Friday. The duo add to their postseason honors after being named to USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-America teams.
Mastropietro was named All-Region for the third year in a row, becoming the first Owl to accomplish the feat since Allison Frengs from 2005-07. She adds the honor to her AAC Midfielder of the Year, All-AAC First Team, Tewaraaton Award nomination, and two All-American honors in 2024. The fifth year senior led the Owls and ranked among the conference's leaders in goals, assists, points, draw controls, and free position goals. She concludes her storied career as the program's all-time leader in draw controls and as one of five players in program history to eclipse 250 career points.
Shallow adds All-Region to her list of first time awards this season, including two All-American honors and the AAC Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as her third career All-AAC selection. She led the Owls and ranked among the top five in the country in caused turnovers and ground balls this season, setting program single season and career records for caused turnovers and ranking top ten in single season and career ground balls. Her 140 career caused turnovers are also fourth among active Division I players.
