Barber, Shallow Selected for IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

SPARKS, Md. - Temple lacrosse's Maddie Barber and Katie Shallow have been selected to compete in IWLCA Senior All-Star Game at the USA Lacrosse Complex in Sparks, Md. The game is scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, June 1 and will feature 44 Division I seniors split into North and South Teams. Both will compete on the North Team alongside players from 15 other schools.Â
The two anchored one of the nation's best defenses this season, ranking first and second in the American in caused turnovers and ground balls for an Owls squad that finished Top-25 nationally in scoring defense. Both were named First Team All-AAC, with Shallow becoming the program's first AAC Defensive Player of the Year and 43rd All-American.Â
Shallow, who was also named IWLCA All-Region, ranked second nationally with 3.56 caused turnovers per game, setting new program records for single season and career CT's (57, 140). She was also fourth nationally with 3.50 ground balls per game.
Barber ranked 30th in the nation with 1.88 caused turnovers per game and was fifth nationally with 3.25 ground balls per game. Her totals of 30 caused turnovers and 52 ground balls rank in the Top-10 in Temple's program history.
