New Season of Temple Talk Starts Wednesday

8.26.24 | Football, General

Philadelphia, PA —Temple Athletics is excited to announce that the "Temple Talk" radio show is back and ready for a new season. Starting August 28, on Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. at Maxi's Pizza, Subs and Bar on Temple's campus (1926 Liacouras Walk), this series will run for the 2024-25 athletic season. Once again, the "Voice of the Owls," Kevin Copp, will serve as the show's host. For the first 12 episodes this fall, the show will consist of in-depth conversations with head coach Stan Drayton, offering Temple fans a deeper look at the football program.

Drayton joined the Owls in 2021 and brought in a lot of experience with him. Under his leadership, the program has learned what it really means to be Temple TUFF. Drayton has had different coaching positions at various colleges, such as the Texas, Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Bowling Green, Villanova, Penn, and his alma mater, Allegheny College. In 2006, Drayton won the BCS National Championship at the University of Florida, and in 2014, he added another championship win under his belt as he helped Ohio State bring home a national title.

Each episode of "Temple Talk" will dive into different perspectives of the team's weekly progress, including game recaps, player highlights, and more behind-the-scenes information. The overall ideology of the show is to bring our fans and the community closer to the action while giving more insight into the vision and values that Coach Drayton brings to Temple Football.

In addition to having Coach Drayton, the show will feature guest appearances from players, assistant coaches, and various other members of the Temple Athletics family. Although it will broadcast live and in-person, each episode will be available on demand at www.owlsports.com/listen, so you can stream it whenever, and wherever.

Fans are encouraged to come out to Maxi's for the first episode this Wednesday, August 28, at 12 p.m. Joining Drayton and Copp will be defensive coordinator Everett Withers and starting middle linebacker D.J. Woodbury.
