Men's Soccer Earns Three Philly Soccer Six Honors

9.18.24 | Men's Soccer

PHILADELPHIA -  After a trio of impressive performances, Defender Diego Diaz, Forward Nathan Brown and Goalkeeper Flannan Riley each received Philly Soccer Six honors. Diaz claimed Soccer Six Defensive Player of the Week, Brown earned Rookie of the Week and Riley was named to the weekly Philly Soccer Six honor roll.

Diaz played a pivotal role in both of TU's matches, first against Drexel on Sept. 10 and then against Akron on Sept. 14. Against Drexel, his strong defensive efforts helped Temple hold the Dragons scoreless in the second half. Diaz's contributions were equally crucial against Akron, where his defensive presence was key in keeping the Zips off the scoreboard.

Nathan Brown was crucial in TU's match against Akron. He drew two yellow cards and earned the Owls a PK opportunity in the 86th minute, allowing Temple to pull ahead late to secure victory.

Flannan Riley was in goal for Temple's match against Akron on Saturday, Sept. 14. Riley recorded a career-high nine saves and had a clean sheet as the Owls defeated Akron 1-0 on the road.

Temple is back in action against No. 19 Charlotte on Saturday night from Temple Sports Complex. The action is slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
