Temple Cross Country Set to Compete at Historic Paul Short Run

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple cross country teams will race Friday, Oct. 3rd, in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University. After two weeks off from competing, the Owls look to bring their best foot forward and impress the field. The men's race will start at 11 A.M and the women's at 11:45 A.M.Â
Previewing the Owls
- The top-finisher for the men last year, Graham Thomas, is set to make his debut for the season.
- The women did not compete in this event last season but bring a wealth of rookies this year who are looking to make a name for themselves.
- This Friday, nine men and eight women will represent the Cherry & White.

The FieldÂ
- This will be the biggest race for the Owls so far this season, with 39 other schools competing in both races.Â
- In the men's race, there will be 34 DI schools, three from DII, and three from DIII.
- In the women's race, there will be 37 DI schools, one from DII, and two from DIII.
- In the men's race, 22 of the 34 DI schools are currently ranked in their region.
- Three of them are ranked in the top 30 of the Coaches' Poll (Syracuse, Georgetown, and Harvard).
- There will be 15 schools from the Mid-Atlantic Region, 14 from the Northeast Region, three from the Great Lakes Region, one from the South Central Region, and one from the Mountain Region.
- In the women's race, 24 of the 37 DI schools are ranked in their respective regions.
- Two of them are ranked in the top 30 of the Coaches' Poll (Penn State and Georgetown).
- There are 18 schools that will represent the Mid-Atlantic Region, 13 from the Northeast Region, two from the Great Lakes Region, two from the Southeast Region, one from the South Central Region, and one from the Mountain Region.
- Wingate (DII) won the men's race last year and Harvard won for the women.Â

The Owls final regular season meet will be on October 17th at the Princeton Fall Classic hosted by Princeton University.
