Men's Crew Earns Fifth Place at Head of the Charles Regatta

BOSTON, Mass. - The Temple University men's crew team earned a top-five finish at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday. The Owls' top boat closed in fifth place overall to take home an automatic entry into next year's event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The head race began with Temple starting seventh overall and hit the first time marker at 3:16.492, the fourth-fastest of any crew in the event.
- At the second marker near the midway point of the race, the Owls clocked a time of 7:57.579 and stood in second place.
- The Owls maintained their top-five placement through the final half of the race and crossed in fifth place at 14:43.697.
- The top 50% of finishers at Head of the Charles are guaranteed entry into next year's field.
- Temple also had a second boat in the race, and the second varsity finished in 34th place.
