IRVING, Texas – Temple punter Dante Atton and quarterback Evan Simon each were recognized by the American Conference for their individual performances in Saturday's 38-37 victory over Tulsa.

Atton, a junior from Melbourne, Australia, was named the American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The single-digit wearer had a massive day for the Owls as he put Tulsa in many situations Saturday where the Golden Hurricane were backed up deep in its own territory. Atton had five punts totaling 214 yards for an average of 42.8 yards per punt The junior had four punts land inside the 20, including one that forced the Golden Hurricane to take a knee to go to overtime. He kept the field position in the Owls' favor with punts to the 2- and 11-yard line in the fourth quarter.

Simon, a redshirt senior from Mount Joy, Pa., was named as one of the Honorable Mentions for this week's American Conference weekly awards. Simon completed 24 of 35 passes for 267 yards and five touchdowns in a 38-37 overtime win at Tulsa. Simon went yet another game this season throwing for multiple touchdown passes and zero interceptions.

This marks the first Special Teams Player of the Week recognition for the Owls since September 23, 2024, when kicker Maddux Trujillo won it for Temple. The Owls also had an honorable mention player that week, and it was quarterback Evan Simon.
