Temple Drops Tight Four-Set Match to Tulsa

11.14.25 | Women's Volleyball

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's volleyball (16-14, 5-10 American) fell to Tulsa (21-6, 11-4 American) Friday evening at McGonigle Hall. Olivia Hummel recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 17 digs, while Christiana Greene added 17 kills to lead the offense.

Temple recognized seniors Qairo Bentley, Alyssa Finister, Katie Hickey, and Leia Harper at the conclusion of the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 25, Tulsa 18)

The Owls jumped ahead early by five with kills from Christiana Greene, Jaya Moore, and Olivia Hummel for a 13-8 lead.
Tulsa responded with a 3-0 run to cut the deficit to 14-12.
Alyssa Finister and Leia Harper sparked a 4-0 run to give Temple its largest lead of the set, 21-14.
Moore closed the set with a kill, giving Temple the 25-18 win.

SET 2 (Temple 19, Tulsa 25)
Both teams traded points early, with Temple staying within two at 11-9. Tulsa then used a 3-0 run to build a four-point lead, briefly interrupted by Greene's ninth kill of the match.
The Golden Hurricane controlled the remainder of the set, extending the lead to as many as seven and taking it 25-19.

SET 3 (Temple 21, Tulsa 25)
The set featured seven ties before Tulsa reached 15 first, leading 15-13.
The Owls tied it again at 15-15 after Moore's second ace of the set.
Temple pulled within one after a solo block from Hummel, 20-19, but Tulsa secured the set 25-21.

SET 4 (Temple 23, Tulsa 25)
Temple opened the fourth with a 3-0 run and pushed ahead 7-3 with a mix of kills, aces, and blocks.
The Owls extended their lead to seven after four straight kills for a 15-8 advantage.
Tulsa battled back to tie the set at 18-18, and the teams traded points down the stretch, with Temple trailing 22-21.
The Golden Hurricane closed out the match 25-23.

INSIDE THE BOX
Temple hit .341 in set one to Tulsa's .216.
Olivia Hummel recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 17 digs.

UP NEXT 
Temple will close out its 2025 season with a home match against Wichita State on Sunday. The matchup will include Temple's Alumni Day, and first serve is set for noon on ESPN+.
