PHILADELPHIA – Temple University head men's basketball coach Adam Fisher has announced the signing of Derrick Morton-Rivera, who will join the Owls for the 2026-27 season.

A local product from Father Judge High School, Morton-Rivera is a 6-4 guard who averaged 17.7 points per game as a junior, helping lead the Crusaders to their first Philadelphia Catholic League title since 1998.

"Mir is an outstanding addition to our program," said Fisher. "He's a gifted scorer and elite shooter who plays with great confidence and poise. He comes from an excellent local program at Father Judge and has developed tremendously under head coach Chris Roantree."

Following the league championship win over Roman Catholic, Morton-Rivera once again faced the Cahillites in the PIAA Class 6A state final, scoring 19 points to help secure Father Judge's first-ever state championship.

"The support Mir has received from his family throughout the recruiting process has been incredible," Fisher added. "We're thrilled to welcome them to our Temple University family!"
