Temple enters Wednesday's matchup against Rhode Island coming off a 79–75 win over Princeton in its second game of the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational in Kissimmee, Fla.
Both teams opened the game trading three-pointers, combining for nine straight attempts from deep as Derrian Ford scored Temple's first seven points.
Princeton used an 11–0 run to build a 10-point lead midway through the first half, but the Owls fought back to cut the deficit to four at halftime.
Temple opened the second half with a 10–0 run, sparked by a Gavin Griffiths three-pointer to take its first lead of the game.
Aiden Tobiason and Jordan Mason connected on an alley-oop in the final minutes as the Owls went 6-for-8 from the free-throw line to seal the win.
Derrian Ford led all scorers with 21 points, marking his third 20-point performance of the season.
Gavin Griffiths added a career-high nine rebounds to go along with key second-half contributions.
Ayuba Bryant Jr. provided a boost off the bench with a career-best six points.

Scouting Rhode Island

Rhode Island enters its third game of the ESPN Events Invitational following a 62–55 loss to Towson and an 80–65 win over Vermont.
The Rams' backcourt duo of Jonah Hinton and Myles Corey has been highly productive, combining to average 33.5 points per game over their last two contests and 27.7 per game this season.
Graduate student Tyler Cochran adds balance to the offense, averaging 13.9 points per game between the two guards.
Rhode Island's other wins this season have come against Stetson (93–62), Stonehill (80–57), Albany (80–61), and Yale (86–77).
The Rams' only other loss came to Tulsa (82–65) in the Veterans Classic in Annapolis, Md.
Last season, Rhode Island finished 18–13 overall and 7–11 in Atlantic 10 play before falling to Fordham in the first round of the A-10 Tournament.
The Rams defeated Temple last season, 85–79, in a neutral-site matchup in Springfield, Mass., despite a 49-point combined effort from Steve Settle III, Shane Dezonie, and Jamal Mashburn Jr.
Head Coach Archie Miller is in his fourth season leading Rhode Island and his 14th overall as a Division I head coach.
Miller has led teams to four NCAA Tournament appearances and holds a 43–57 record with the Rams.
