Magro Tabbed BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for Third Time

NEW YORK – Following a pair of goals against Providence, the BIG EAST Conference announced Monday afternoon that Lucia Magro was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the third time during her rookie season.
Magro tied the contest in both the first and fourth quarters against the Friars, forcing the season finale into overtime. With less than two minutes remaining in the first extra period, Peyton Rieger found the back of the cage to lift Temple to a 3-2 victory.
Magro capped an impressive freshman campaign with nine goals and two assists for 20 points, marking the most points by a Temple freshman since 1987. She closed the year with five goals over her final five contests.
The honor marks Magro's fifth conference recognition of the fall, following two prior Freshman of the Week selections and two appearances on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Temple (12-6, 3-4 BIG EAST) closed the 2025 campaign with back-to-back victories over nationally ranked Yale and Providence.
