About the Game
The Temple University men's basketball team takes the short trip to Villanova for an important Philadelphia Big 5 pod game on Monday evening. The Owls and Wildcats enter the contest with 1-0 records in Big 5 play, and the winner will advance to the championship game of the Big 5 Classic to take on Penn inside Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The Owls wrapped up play at the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando with a 90-75 loss to Rhode Island.

After falling to nationally-ranked BYU in the season opener, Villanova has won five straight including an 89-75 victory over Old Dominion on Nov. 25.
The Wildcats are averaging 86.8 points per game during their winning streak and five players are averaging in double figures on the year.
Sophomore Bryce Lindsay, the Sun Belt Freshman of the Year for James Madison last season, is averaging 19.0 points per game and is shooting 47.8 percent from three-point range.
A pair of freshmen - Acaden Lewis and Matt Hodge - average 13.5 points and 12.5 points per game, respectively.
The two teams have one common opponent, as both Temple and Villanova defeated La Salle this season. The Owls beat the Explorers, 90-63, while the Wildcats earned a 70-55 road victory at La Salle on Nov. 19.
