PHILADELPHIA - This Sunday, February 2, the Temple women's tennis will kick off their season with an exciting home matchup against Fordham University.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
- During the last match against VCU, Thamara Kawaratani, and Marianthi Christoforidou earned a 6-3 win over Wiktoria Czerny and Victoria Tracey, while Maria Martinez and Shevita Aulana controlled their match against Charlotte Kordonowy and Brooke Tackett, winning 6-2. Irmak Ozturk and Nina Andreoni completed the sweep with a 6-1 victory over Addison Melfi and Ana Ocasio.
- Temple carried its energy into singles play, securing five of six matchups. Ozturk delivered a standout performance in the No. 1 position, cruising past Tracey 6-1, 6-0.
- In a gritty three-set battle, Martinez showcased resilience, edging Melfi 6-4, 2-6, 10-3. Christoforidou maintained her dominance with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Tackett. Aditi Vaidya and Andreoni rounded out the lineup with straight-set victories, as Vaidya defeated Kordonowy 6-2, 6-3, and Andreoni bested Ocasio 6-4, 6-2.
- Fordham opened the match against St. Bonaventure, dropping the doubles point as the Bonnies won two of the three games. The Rams won by taking five of the six singles matches, four in straight sets. Julianne Nguyen won first singles over Cerkeline Lundberg, 6-3, 6-2, while Bergmann took second singles from Isabella Venter, 6-4, 6-4. Catalina Padilla Udaeta was victorious in third singles over Tamara Bachmann, 6-3, 7-5, and Aya Matsunaga won in sixth singles over Kelly Barnes, 6-3, 6-3. Lily Chitambar was the other Fordham singles winner, defeating Sienna Smith at the fourth spot, 7-5, 6-7(6), 10-6.
