2025 Temple Football Schedule Announced
2.28.25 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – The American Athletic Conference today announced its 2025 football schedule. The Temple Football season, the first under head coach K.C. Keeler, will get underway on Saturday, Aug. 30, when the Owls travel to UMass to take on the Minutemen.
There is no shortage of tough competition as two of Temple's non-conference opponents were bowl eligible – Oklahoma, and Georgia Tech – as were six of Temple 2025 conference foes.
Temple fans will get a chance to see two teams come to Lincoln Financial Field for the first-time ever as Howard (Sept. 6) and Oklahoma (Sept. 13) face Temple in Philadelphia. The Owls also play at UMass' McGuirk Alumni Stadium, and Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium (Sept. 20) for the first-time ever.
All four American Athletic Conference opponents traveling to Philadelphia are coming off a bowl game last season. In fact, Temple has the toughest strength of schedule among the AAC teams. Temple's 2025 AAC opponents averaged 7.5 wins last year.
After four weeks of non-conference games, Temple will host UTSA and Navy in back-to-back weeks. The Owls will then play just one home game in the next 41 days. Back-to-back road trips to Charlotte and Tulsa and a trip to Army followed by a bye week, sandwich a November 1 contest against East Carolina at the Linc. Senior day will be held on Nov. 22 against Tulane and the Owls close out the season at North Texas. That last game will be either on Black Friday (Nov. 28) or the following day (that date will be determined by Oct. 13).
Kickoff times and television designations for the first three weeks of the season will be finalized by June 1. The rest of the schedule will fall under the customary 12-day and six-day selection processes.
Each of the 14 teams in The American will play eight conference games in 2025. The top two teams in the final single-division regular-season standings will meet Dec. 5 or 6 in the 11th American Athletic Conference Football Championship. The team with the best conference record will host that game.
