Men’s Tennis Claims Victory Over Siena on Grand Opening Day

PHILADELPHIA – Temple won the doubles point in a thrilling three-doubles-deciding match and showed resilience in five singles action, securing the victory. The match took place on the grand opening day, with the team playing on the brand-new courts.

How It Happen

The Owls started strong in doubles, securing victories on courts two and three to take the opening point. Martim Marujo and Aayush Bhat dominated at No. 2 with a 6-2 win over Dylan Breen and Zino Varouhas-Poole, while Pranav Nemani and Alberto Blumenschein clinched the point with a 6-4 victory over Fabio Varella and Bruno Loch Varella at No. 3.
The Owls extended their lead in singles with commanding performances across the lineup. Marujo set the tone with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Martinez at No. 1, followed by Kolaric's 6-4, 6-4 win over Maxwell Acri at No. 2.
Russo kept the momentum going with a decisive 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 3. Bhat added to Temple's tally with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5, while Blumenschein wrapped up the match with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 6.
