Good Works Nominees 2025

Allstate and AFCA Announce Nominees for 2025 Good Works Team

7.15.25 | Football

NORTHBROOK, ILL. – Allstate and the American football Coaches Association announced Tuesday a record-breaking 197 nominees for the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. This honor recognizes football student-athletes and head coaches from all levels of the sport and are recognized for their commitment to community service and leadership beyond the field.

The two nominees for Temple are Head Coach K.C. Keeler and sophomore safety Willy Love. These two are part of this record-breaking group of nominees which is the most in the 34-year history of the award.

The final roster of 23 award recipients announced in September will bring together:
  • 11 players from the NCAA FBS
  • 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)
  • 1 honorary head coach

A voting panel of former Good Works Team members, head coaches and journalists select the team roster based on outstanding leadership on and off the field.

Since returning to the Philadelphia area in January, Keeler has been committed to the Temple community and has fostered several initiatives.

He and our student-athletes have started the "Diamond Street Cleanup" sending dozens of coaches/players out on the inner-city streets that surround Temple's football facility to rake, pick up trash, etc. two to three times per week.

Student athletes have served as mentors, engaging and reading with elementary school students at schools nearby campus (Duckery Elementary, Dunbar) at least once each week.

Similarly, Keeler has supported Temple Hospital and CHOP (Children's Hospital of Philadelphia) by sending staff/players to engage with patients. After a notable absence, Keeler reengaged with NMDP (formerly Be The Match), a national marrow donor program. Temple's one-day sign-up initiative provided hundreds of people to register to become potential donors.

Willy Love has worked intensively in our community service efforts. He leads the team in community service hours and is always looking for a way to give back to the Philadelphia and Camden communities. As a local, he feels as though he has a responsibility to be a good role model for the younger generation — including his little brother.
Willy's why is that he wants to show them that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. He is driven by being someone his brother can look up to and be proud of.

Some things that Willy has done in the past are returning to Eastside High, his old high school, to spend time and talk to the students there, giving them words of affirmation, and teaching them what he learned through his experiences. He also spends time doing trash cleanups in North Philadelphia. He had a fundraiser for the day care where his mom works. In the spring, Willy completed over 30 hours of community service, including his service with the team and his volunteer work.
