The 3rd Annual Home Invitational Marks Start of Cross Country Season for Temple

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Owls will open their cross-country season Friday, August 29 by hosting the 3rd Annual Temple Owl Cross Country Invitational. The invitational will be run at Temple University's Ambler Campus. Prior to the race, a moment of silence will be observed to honor three former Temple cross country and track and field athletes (Joe Daubert, Bill Mahoney, and Max Stepanuk).Â
The women's race will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the men's race at 5:30 p.m. The Owls will be running against La Salle, Monmouth, Rider, Lafayette, Loyola (Md.), and Villanova.
Following the men's race, seniors David Litvin and Mattia Zen will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to the program, both athletically and academically. The event will conclude with an alumni meet-and-greet.
Running for the women are Amelia Sabatino, Brooke Shellenberger, Dagny Shiffler, Laila Cottom, Maya Gomes, Reese Morgan, and Rose Tuomisto. Running for the men are David Litvin, Mattia Zen, Francesco Candiani, Simeon Shappell-Smith, and Noe Sengel.
