Finister and Harper Lead Temple in Sweep Over North Dakota

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Temple women's volleyball (1-2) swept North Dakota (0-2), 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-21), at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Sunday morning to conclude the NDSU/NDU Invite. Leia Harper and Alyssa Finister each recorded double-digit kills in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 25, UND 13)
- The Owls opened the match strong, with early kills from Alyssa Finister and Leia Harper to take a 3-1 lead.
- North Dakota responded with a four-point run to tie it at 6-6.
- A kill from MeMe Cardwell gave Temple its largest lead of the set, 17-11.
- The Owls hit .417 to close out the first set, winning 25-13.
- Finister posted a perfect hitting percentage with four kills, as Temple out-killed North Dakota 12-7.
- The Fighting Hawks opened the second set on a 5-1 run, including a pair of service aces.
- Cardwell and Katie Hickey teamed up for a block that helped Temple rally and cut the deficit to 7-5.
- A service ace from Lexi Yoza and a kill from Olivia Hummel gave Temple its first lead of the set, 11-10.
- Finister remained a force at the net, recording her seventh kill to keep the Owls within one, 14-13.
- Temple closed the set on a 4-0 run to secure the 25-21 win.
- Hickey opened the third set with a kill and a block to tie the score at 3-3.
- Finister recorded her eighth kill of the match to put Temple up 9-7.
- Harper reached double-digit kills, extending the Owls' lead to 16-14.
- Back-to-back kills by Christiana Greene, both assisted by Daniella Gonzalez Murati, pushed the Owls ahead 21-19.
- Finister sealed the match with her 10th kill as Temple closed out the set 25-21.
- Finister posted a perfect hitting percentage in the first set and finished with 10 kills overall.
- Temple out-killed North Dakota 42-30 and hit .340 as a team.
- Harper and Finister both reached double digits in kills.
