PHILADELPHIA -Temple women's soccer (2-7-0) dropped its conference home opener to USF (4-4-0), falling 4-2 on Thursday afternoon at the Temple Sports Complex. Shari Atkins and Madison Abi Aoun each scored for the Owls in the loss to the Bulls.

How It Happened

USF struck first in the 10th minute with a goal from Maya Hindson, assisted by Noelle Sather.
The Bulls doubled their lead in the 18th minute after Sadie Sider-Echenberg found the back of the net.
Just five minutes later, Hedda Ornberg extended the advantage to 3-0, converting a pass from Keito Ido.
Temple responded quickly as Madison Abi Aoun scored her first goal as an Owl in the 20th minute, assisted by Sabrina Campbell, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
USF answered almost immediately—just 30 seconds later—when Gentiana Fetaj broke through the defense to restore a three-goal cushion, making it 4-1 heading into halftime.
In the second half, Shari Atkins added a goal in the 75th minute off a setup from Eva Matesich, trimming the deficit to 4-2. However, the Owls were unable to mount a full comeback.
