PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (2-5-0) dropped a close match on the road Thursday night, falling 2-1 to Saint Joseph's (3-3-0) at Sean Sweeney Field. Freshman Valentina Bitterwolf netted the Owls' lone goal in the 73rd minute.

How it happened

Saint Joseph's opened the scoring in the 72nd minute with a goal from Jayda Shehadi, assisted by Juliette Muro.
Just a minute later, Temple responded. After a handball in the box by the Hawks, Bitterwolf converted the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1.
The Hawks quickly regained the lead. In the 76th minute, Shehadi scored her second goal of the match to secure a 2-1 victory for Saint Joseph's.
Bitterwolf led Temple with two shots, while Shari Atkins and Liv-Lilith Falk also had shot attempts on goal.
Goalkeeper Tamsin Bynoe recorded seven saves in 76 minutes before exiting the match due to injury.
The Owls were outshot 14-4 and lost the corner kick battle, 4-3.Temple will head to Brookville, N.Y., on Sunday to take on LIU. Kickoff is set for noon.
