Owls Fall to LIU, 2-1, After Conceding Late Goal

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. – Temple women's soccer (2-6-0) fell on the road to LIU (2-1-1), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon after conceding a late goal in the final minutes. Eva Matesich scored the Owls' only goal of the match.

How It Happened
- Shari Atkins and Valentina Bitterwolf led the Owls with two shots each, while Rylie Wilpolt, Eva Canevari, and Madison Abi Aoun also registered shots.
- After a scoreless first half, LIU took the lead early in the second, with Izzy Stein finding the net in the 49th minute.
- In the 58th minute, Matesich equalized for the Owls, scoring off an assist from Wilpolt to make it 1-1.
- The Sharks responded in the closing minutes, as Bo Price scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute, securing a 2-1 victory for LIU.
- Goalkeeper Claudia Viau recorded five saves in the loss.
