Finister and Greene Lead Temple to Straight-Set Win Over NC Central

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Temple women's volleyball (3-2) swept North Carolina Central (2-5), 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-18), Saturday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center. The Owls hit an impressive .301, led by double-digit kills from Christiana Greene (10) and Alyssa Finister (11).

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 25, NC Central 18)
  • Leia Harper, Christiana Greene, and Olivia Hummel each tallied two early kills to keep the set tied at 6-6.
  • Temple pulled ahead with a 7-2 run, gaining a five-point advantage at 21-16.
  • Mariyanna Cardwell closed out the set with back-to-back kills, 25-18.
  • The Owls posted 15 kills while hitting .364.
SET 2(Temple 25, NC Central 18)
  • Temple gained separation after consecutive kills by Cardwell and Katie Hickey to go up 15-10.
  • Finister and Hummel combined for the final five points, securing another 25-18 win.
SET 3 (Temple 25, NC Central 18)
  • After falling behind 6-1, the Owls mounted a comeback sparked by a key block from Hickey to take the lead at 11-10.
  • Greene notched her 10th kill off a Lexi Yoza assist to make it 24-17.
  • Mickhaila Murray sealed the match with her sixth kill in two sets, completing the Owls' second sweep of the season.
