Owls Close out Philadelphia Invitational at Penn

PHILADELPHIA – Temple began Day 2 of the Philadelphia Invitational at the University of Pennsylvania. The Owls opened the morning by facing Yale at 8:30am, followed by Wagner, FDU, and closing the day with Penn.
MEET SUMMARY
Temple opened the day with a tough loss against Yale, but an impressive Epee performance kept them on their toes, going 5-4 before the team fell 7-20. The Owls followed up with redeeming wins against Wagner (19-8) and FDU (25-2), which were both highlighted by wins from the foilist squad. The fencers fell to Penn to end the day after an impressive performance by the epee and saber teams.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Foilists Jara Del Cura and Milena Zunic had impressive bouts, going 5-2 and 5-0 respectively on the day.
Epeeist Eliana Geva went 6-2 on the day, including a standout 2-1 performance to take down Penn.
Saberist Keely Carter went 4-3 on the day with huge wins over Yale and Wagner.
