Men’s Tennis Opens 2026 Spring Season at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK - Pa. The Temple University men's tennis team is set to open its 2026 spring slate with a Saturday morning matchup at Penn State starting at 10:00 a.m.

Scouting Temple

Freshman Oliver Aguilar highlighted the fall campaign, capturing the white draw title at the Saint Joseph's Invitational without dropping a set.
The Owls continued to build experience at the ITA Regionals and American Fall Championships, with wins in both singles and doubles against strong Northeast competition.
Temple closed the fall on a high note at the Dragon Invitational, recording multiple doubles victories and eight total singles wins across matches with Villanova, Drexel, and FDU.

Scouting Penn State

The Nittony Lions enter the weekend with two matches already under their belt, besting both Fordham and Cleveland State by a score of 6-1.
The team competed in two fall tournaments in the fall of 2025. Penn State hosted the Holmes Cathrall Memorial Invitational, the first home fall tournament in 17 years, walking away with five doubles and eight singles victories. The Nittany Lions then moved on to the ITA Northeast Regional Championship, finishing with eight singles wins and two doubles wins.
Head Coach Bruce Lipka is in his second year as head coach of the Nittany Lions. Lipka led Penn State to a 12-15 record a season ago, including a 4-2 win against Temple in Happy Valley.
