BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Temple women's basketball team (15-16, 9-10 American) advanced past the Tulane Green Wave (11-20, 6-12 American) in the first round of the American Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon, 86-77, in overtime.
Kaylah Turner led the Owls with 31 points after finishing 10-for-26 from the field. Turner also tied a season-high in three-pointers, going 8-for-15 from beyond the arc. Saniyah Craig contributed 14 points and 15 rebounds to record her fifth double-double of the season.

How it Happened
First Quarter
  • Amira Mabry scored the opening basket of the afternoon to give Tulane a 2-0 lead exactly one minute into the opening quarter.
  • Saniyah Craig converted two free throws and a putback layup to tie the game at 4-4 with 7:45 remaining in the first.
  • Kaylah Turner knocked down a wide-open three-pointer to give the Owls a 7-4 lead, sparking a 7-0 run for Temple.
  • Temple then went on a 2:24 scoring drought while missing seven consecutive field goals.
  • Tulane committed five turnovers over a span of 4:33.
