Women’s Tennis Prepares for Three-Match Week Against Delaware NJIT and Drexel

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University women's tennis team is set for three matches this week, facing Delaware, NJIT, and Drexel, with the Owls facing the Blue Hens on Tuesday, the Highlanders on Friday, and the Dragons on Sunday.

Last Time Out

Temple went 2-0 on the week, earning 4-3 victories over both Saint Joseph's and Villanova at the Temple Tennis Complex.
The Owls picked up the doubles point against Villanova and secured multiple singles wins in each match to clinch both decisions.
Irmak Ozturk led the way with a perfect 4-0 week, going 2-0 in both singles and doubles play without dropping a set in singles.

Scouting Delaware

Delaware heads into the homestretch of its season with a 12-4 record, most recently falling to FIU (4-3) and Navy (4-3).
Select members from both Temple and Delaware faced off in the Villanova/Delaware Invite, with both Thamara Kawaratani Frasser and Ozturk picking up wins.
Director of Tennis Pablo Montana has led the Blue Hens for the past ten seasons. Last season, the Blue Hens advanced to the second round of the CAA Tournament before falling to Campbell.

Scouting NJIT

The Highlanders currently hold an 11-5 record, with the team losing three of their last four to Columbia (4-0), Charleston Southern (4-3), and Presbyterian (4-3).
The two sides faced off last season, with the NJIT earning a 6-1 win.
Patricia Piorkowski McDonald serves as the head coach of the program. In her fourth season, she helped lead the Highlanders to a 13-6 mark.

Scouting Drexel

The Dragons carry an even 7-7 record heading into this week, last falling to Rhode Island by a score of 4-2.
Last season, the Dragons finished the year with a 7-9 record, including falling 5-2 to the Owls.
Head Coach Eric Biscoveanu is in his fourth season leading the Dragons, earning a combined record of 37-34
