Ward, Hill, Echavarria Named to American Women’s Soccer Watch List

IRVING, Texas – Temple women's soccer players Maddie Ward, Amaya Hill, and Giovanna Echavarria earned recognition on the American Conference Women's Soccer Watch List, as announced by the conference Friday morning.
Sophomore Maddie Ward saw action in 19 games, making 19 starts for the Owls last season. She registered seven shots, with three coming on target. Ward scored two goals in a win over Saint Peter's and added another goal against Lincoln (Pa.) during the 2025 season. She logged more than 1,600 minutes of action during her freshman campaign.
Transfer Amaya Hill competed at Manhattan University, where she enjoyed a standout career with the Jaspers. In 2025, she started all 18 matches and earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors. Hill tied the program's single-season record with 12 assists, leading the MAAC and ranking second in NCAA Division I. She scored goals in back-to-back matches against Wagner and Fordham while recording multi-assist performances against Iona, Mount St. Mary's, and Fairfield. Hill logged 1,161 minutes during the 2025 season.
During the summer of 2025, Hill competed for USL W League club Hudson Valley Crusaders, appearing in eight matches and recording 450 minutes. She scored a brace in a 4-3 victory over New Jersey Copa FC.
In 2024, Hill appeared in 18 matches with nine starts, recording one goal and three assists, including a three-assist performance at Merrimack. She finished the season with 18 shots, including eight on goal, while totaling 776 minutes. Hill did not compete during the 2023 season after appearing in 10 matches as a freshman in 2022, totaling 178 minutes.
Giovanna Echavarria had a decorated high school career, highlighted by being named Union County Player of the Year as a senior after earning First Team All-Union County, First Team All-Watchung Division, Second Team All-State, and Top 20 North 2 Region honors. She also received the Scholar-Athlete Award and Top 10 Excellence Award.
As a junior, Echavarria earned First Team All-Union County, First Team All-Watchung Division, and All-State honors. During her sophomore season, she was selected to the First Team All-Union County and First Team All-Mountain Division teams. As a freshman, she earned First Team All-Mountain Division and All-State honors, capping an outstanding four-year high school career.
