Owls Fall to George Washington in 2026 Season Opener

Washington, D.C. — Temple women's soccer (0-1-0) fell to George Washington (1-0-0), 4-0, in the 2026 season opener Wednesday after falling behind early in the first half. Giovanna Echavarria led the Owls with two shots, while Ana Zivkovic recorded three saves in her first collegiate start.
How It Happened
George Washington got on the board first in the 24th minute following a goal from Julia Bilal, assisted by Naomi Kim and Vigran Rose.
The Revolutionaries added two goals in a three-minute span, with Kalia Kau scoring both to give George Washington a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Owls recorded three shots in the first half. Eva Accettola, Maddie Ward and Danica Banham each logged a shot but were unable to find the back of the net.
Five Owls recorded shots in the second half, including Echavarria, Teagan Harkins, Katelyn Revelle, Jenna Daveler and Shari Atkins.
Zivkovic made three saves in the second half, holding George Washington to one goal after the break.
George Washington extended its lead to 4-0 in the 69th minute when McKenna Wickman found the back of the net following an assist from Ella Provost-Heron, securing the final score.
