Owls Look To Carry Momentum Into Race Week Two
9.17.26 | Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country
PHILADELPHIA - This weekend the Temple cross country teams will race Friday, Sept 18th and Saturday, Sept 19th. The men will travel to Huntsville, Alabama to compete in the Southern Showcase, and the women will travel to Montgomery, New York to compete in the Jasper Fall XC Invitational. The Owls look to continue their momentum from a stellar performance in their first race.
Previewing The Owls: (Men)
- The mens team are coming into this weekend on fire from their performance in the Temple Invitational, where they claimed all five of the top spots.
- They are led by Senior Noé Sengel, who finished first the 4 mile race with a time of 20:48.2.
- He is joined by other top performers, Xavier May, Francesco Candiani, Naasir Bakari, and Stephen Keller who all finished in the top five.
- Also keep an eye out for Senior Simeon Shappell-Smith who is one of Temples fastest runners from the 2025 campaign.

Previewing The Owls: (Women)
- The women's team is equally as impressive as they come into this weekend having dominated their portion of the Temple Invitational.
- Freshmen Olivia DiGaetano made an instant impact for the team, finishing first in the 4k with a time of 15:29.7.
- She is joined by sophomores Rose Tuomisto, Dagny Shiffler, and her fellow freshmen María Estévez-Vázquez who all finished in the top five of the Temple Invitational.
- The underclassmen will be relied on heavily for a top score in this weekends runs.

Eight runners from the mens team will compete in the 8k, the race will start at 7:30am Friday 9/18. Eleven runners on the women's side will compete in the 6k, their race starts at 11am Saturday 9/19.
