PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer (0-6-2, 0-2-0 American) lost to #12 Missouri State (6-0-1, 2-0-0 American), 3-0, at home Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
Missouri State jumped out to an early lead after Diego Real scored in the 6th minute. The Bears increased their lead to 2-0 in the 28th minute after a shot from outside the box took a deflection and found its way into the back of the net. Giving Missouri State a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Throughout the second half, Temple had quality scoring chances and were able to move the ball around more effectively. Resulting in six shots during the final 45 minutes of play. The Owls had their fair hare of scoring chances with some even coming right on the goal line. However, they were unable to beat Fernando Alves Schmelz. Missouri State would add another goal in the 72nd minute to give them a 3-0 victory over the Owls.
