Changed to jersey number 17 in spring 2009 after wearing 39 as a true freshman.
2009: Redshirted … named the coaches’ defensive scout team player of the week following the Toledo game.
2008: Played in all 12 games ... one of just six freshmen to play in all 12 games ... also saw playing time with the kickoff unit ... had a tackle in his collegiate debut at Army ... had a solo tackle at Buffalo ... had two tackles at No. 16/15 Penn State ... in the win at Miami, had two assists ... made a solo tackle at Kent State ... lettered.
High School: Played at Coppell HS for coach Bob Shipley ... second-team All-District in 2007 ... as a senior, had 111 tackles, three forced fumbles, and an interception ... named the Defensive Back of the Year ... named first-team All-District at safety as a junior ... also returned punts for the Cowboys ... as a junior, had 73 tackles, including 50 solo, two forced fumbles and several PBUs ... also played running back and scored four touchdowns ... also a three-year letterwinner in track and field where he earned All-District honors.
