Aaron Christner joined Temple Football in January, 2019, as director of football operations. He arrived at Temple following seven seasons with Northern Illinois University’s football team.
After two seasons as a graduate assistant in football operations, he was promoted to a full-time position and was in that role for five years at NIU.
Christner’s duties include team travel logistics, scouting away game locations, coordinating camps and on-campus recruiting visits. He is responsible for budgeting, scheduling, and building and field maintenance. He serves as a liaison for the football team to internal departments such as the academic and compliance staffs.
Prior to NIU, Christner worked as a football operations intern for the Baltimore Ravens, creating itineraries and coordinating travel, assisting with the 2010 training camp and securing hotels for home and away games for coaches and staff.
As an undergraduate student at Iowa, Christner worked as a student football operations manager, aiding with practices and game day set up, coordinating camps, and leading other student managers.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Christner earned his bachelor’s degree in interdepartmental studies from Iowa in 2010. He received his master’s degree in education from NIU in 2015.
