Christina Kennedy joined the Owls as Temple’s athletic trainer for women’s basketball beginning in the 2018-19 season.

Kennedy came to Temple from ATI, a physical therapy company, located in Wilmington, Delaware. There, she worked as a clinician in the clinic and at St. Mark’s High School.

Kennedy has extensive basketball experience as an athletic trainer, most recently working for Slam Dunk to the Beach, a weekend basketball tournament that hosts the top 100 players in the country. She also served as the head athletic trainer for the Delaware 87ers, an NBA D-League team. In her two years with the 87ers, she organized all of the sports medicine staff for the team, including the physical therapist, massage therapist, chiropractor, podiatrist, and nutritionist.

Kennedy also completed an internship for the NFL’s New York Jets, working for the team during the 2008 through 2011 seasons. She also worked as the athletic training intern for the WNBA’s Washington Mystics for the 2012 season.

Kennedy holds a personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise and a certification in cupping and dry needling. She is also a certified functional movement screening specialist. 

A 2010 graduate of Cortland State with a bachelor’s of science in kinesiology, Kennedy earned her master’s degree from Seton Hall University. Kennedy completed her doctorate degree in the fall of 2021 from A.T. Still University, specializing in rehabilitation and orthopedics.
