Laura Altimari, a four-year standout rower with the Temple University women’s rowing team, is in her second year as a graduate assistant coach, and first season working alongside new head coach Jason Read.

A four-year starter, Altimari rowed as a member of the Owls’ Varsity 8+ all four years and was the crew’s stroke her senior year. Altimari, who served as team captain her senior year, capped her brilliant career by earning 2009 Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference.

While at Temple, she competed for the Undine and Vesper Boat Clubs under coaches Michael Naughton, Joseph Quaid, Aaron Preetam and Scott Wisniewski during the summer.

Altimari graduated from Temple University in 2009 with a degree in English and Secondary education. She is currently enrolled in her final semester of the master’s program, pursuing a degree in Higher Education Administration. Aside from coaching, Altimari is also interning in the Office of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services at Villanova University.

A King of Prussia, Pa. native, Altimari attended Upper Merion Area High School where she rowed under Anthony Neczypor and Luisa Magda.
