Lazo arrived at Temple following her return to Penn State in August 2024, where she served as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator for the Nittany Lions. The position marked a homecoming for Lazo, a former standout student-athlete and 2x All-American at Penn State.
Before her return to Happy Valley, Lazo spent three seasons (2021–24) as the associate head coach at the University of Delaware, where she led the Blue Hens’ offensive unit. Under her guidance, Delaware’s offense thrived, scoring 195 goals in 2024 and averaging 12.19 goals per game.
Lazo also gained valuable experience earlier in her career as a volunteer assistant coach at Penn State in 2018–19 and as an offensive assistant at Mount St. Mary’s during the 2017–18 season.
During her playing career, Lazo was one of the most dynamic attackers in Penn State history. She helped lead the Nittany Lions to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including two semifinal berths, and earned numerous accolades along the way:
In 2017, she was named the Big Ten Attack Player of the Year and earned recognition as the Penn State Female Athlete of the Year. Over the course of her collegiate career, she was a three-time All-Region selection and a two-time All-Big Ten honoree. Capping off her senior season, she was named the MVP of the 2017 IWLCA Senior All-Star Game.
Lazo’s senior season was particularly historic, as she led the Big Ten in both points (89) and assists (43), the most points by a Nittany Lion in a single season since 1989 and the second-most assists in program history. She concluded her career ranked seventh all-time in both points (211) and assists (89) at Penn State.
In addition to her collegiate accomplishments, Lazo was selected by the New England Command in the inaugural Women’s Professional Lacrosse League draft. In February 2025, she was named head coach of the Philippines Women’s National Team.
A Stevensville, Md. native, Lazo earned her bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation and human services from Penn State in 2017.
