Alycia Pettito, a four year member of the Temple women's gymnastics team and senior co-captain last season, is entering her first season as a graduate assistant for the team. She will assist Murphy in all aspects of coaching including recruiting, travel and fundraising.
As a senior co-captain in 2008, Pettito was one of the Owls' top performers on vault and uneven bars, posting season-high 9.625 on the vault at the Liberty Classic and 9.400 on the vault against Cornell. In 2007, she finished tied for fifth (9.450) on uneven bars at Ursinus and tallied a team-high and ranked second with a 9.475 on vault at home meet against Rutgers.(9.400) in the Liberty Classic. Before arriving at Temple, Pettito trained under coaches Carlos Harper and Robin Thomas at New Image Gymnastics.
