Chris Scott joined the Temple Football staff as Director of Scouting in September 2024. Scott came to Temple after spending a season at Grambling State University as the program’s General Manager.

Prior to this, Scott was a recruiting coordinator at the University of Houston, where he played a key role in signing current NFL players Tank Dell, Marcus Jones, and Patrick Paul.

Prior to Houston, Scott spent the 2016-18 seasons at SMU, the last as a defensive quality control analyst after two seasons as a defensive graduate assistant. While at SMU, Scott played a pivotal role in landing four future NFL players: Elijah Chapman, Trevor Denbow, Jimmy Phillips, and Rashee Rice.

Scott’s coaching career began as a cornerbacks coach at Irving Nimitz High School in 2012, before serving as Defense/Special Teams Coordinator at Katy Tompkins High School for two seasons. Scott then moved to the college ranks, coaching cornerbacks during the 2015 season at Southern University.

A TCU alum, Scott was a three-year letterman for the Horned Frogs, playing on two BCS bowl teams, including the Rose Bowl Championship squad in 2010.
