Fiona Fong
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
On Feb. 7, 2024, Temple fencing Head Coach Jennie Salmon announced the addition of 2018 alumnus Fiona Fong to the Owls' coaching staff.
"Temple fencing was such an influential and positive force in my life, and I am so happy to rejoin the team as a coach. This year's team is filled with talented individuals, and the support and ambition are certainly palpable," expressed Fong. "It has been a successful season so far; I look forward to being part of the Greatness that is to come."
Currently, Fiona currently serves as a youth development and mental strength coach at Medeo where she's been for the past 11 years. The Temple alumnus acts as an assistant coach, leading group classes and providing private lessons. Her private lessons reduce anxiety and train a person to focus so they can reach their potential.
Fiona graduated from Temple with degree in psychology in the honors college and then received her master's degree in clinical psychology from Bangor University in the United Kingdom.
During her time at Temple, Fong competed on the epee team and was squad captain. With a 125-113 overall career record, Fiona was familiar with post season success, earning All-NIWFA honors (2016-1st, 2017-2nd, 2018-3rd), and added bronze medals in 2016 and 2018. In 2018 and 2019, Fong represented the Owls at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regionals where she finished in the top 25 in both seasons.
