Paul Stinson

Temple women’s soccer head coach Nick Bochette has announced the addition of Paul Stinson to the Owl family, joining the program as an assistant coach in June 2023.
Stinson comes to Temple with over 23 years of experience at a multitude of different levels. Most recently, Stinson served as the head coach at Bryn Mawr College, a stint he held for seven years.
Prior to Bryn Mawr, Stinson came to the Greater Philadelphia Area as an assistant coach for the Haverford College men’s soccer program in 2012. In his four years with the program, he helped guide the squad to an NCAA Elite 8 appearance in 2015, with perfect Centennial Conference regular season (9-0) and tournament (2-0) records. He was also part of a second-round appearance in the 2012 NCAA Tournament and a Centennial Conference Tournament Title. The 2012 NCAA appearance was the first in 30 years for the Fords, and the tournament title was the team’s first since the conference’s inception.
Aside from his success with the Fords, Stinson’s experience runs deep, as he has served in both assistant and head coaching positions at the Division I, III and NJCAA level. Stinson served as an assistant coach for Colgate University from 2007-12. His experience was used on both the men’s and women’s programs, as he served as a women’s assistant coach from 2007-2011, while overlapping with his men’s experience from 2009-2012.
Prior to Colgate, Stinson served as the head coach for Colby-Sawyer College women’s soccer (2003-2006), assistant coach for Clarkson University women’s soccer (2001-2003), and an assistant coach for the Iowa Central Community College men’s and women’s programs (2000-2001).
At the youth level, Stinson worked with New Hampshire ODP (3 years), served as the Odyssey Sport SC Boy’s Director of Coaching (5 years), head coach for Lower Merion SC (5 years), coach for the Goalkeeper Development Program at YSC/Union Juniors (4 years), and head coach for Continental Football Club (3 years).
Stinson’s college teams have appeared in the NCAA tournament four times (twice in Division I, twice in Division III), won two NJCAA Region 11 titles, secured three Patriot League regular season titles (2009, 2010, 2011), won two Patriot League tournament titles (one men’s and one women’s), and two Centennial Conference tournament titles (2012, 2015) in addition to two Centennial regular season titles in 2013 and 2015. Haverford also had a tournament final appearance in 2014, losing 1-0 to a Muhlenberg team that made the Sweet 16.
Stinson graduated from Kenyon College in 2000 with a BA in Sociology and a three-year career on the field. He holds a “C” license through the USSF and is completing a master’s degree in Leadership at Duquesne University.
