Head coach of the Temple University football team from 1925 to 1932, Heinie Miller produced an outstanding 50-15-8 record and helped raise Temple to a level of national importance. During his tenure, the Owls had a winning record every season against some of the nation's top teams. His 1927 team walloped Blue Ridge, 110-0. He served as an assistant to Glenn (Pop) Warner during the 1933 season. He played end for Penn and was named to the Walter Camp All-American team in 1918. He assisted the late Bert Bell with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1942. He was president of Miller and Mason, Insurance Consultants, before passing away in August of 1965. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
