Stan Grayson

Stan Grayson starred for Temple in both football and boxing. He made the varsity as a freshman and played in every Owl football game for four years. He played the full 60 minutes in the first Sugar Bowl game against Tulane and went the distance in numerous other games during his collegiate career. He earned mention on the All-East All-American teams and played in two All-Star games. He was named to the All-Pennsylvania and Polish All-American teams. He was presented the Penrose Trophy in 1934 as Temple's most valuable lineman. He was runner-up for the eastern collegiate heavyweight championship in 1937 and was the Owls' varsity boxing coach in 1938. He coached the Temple freshman football team in 1937 and 1938. He was a successful teacher and coach at Cranford, NJ High School where he produced two state and three conference championships during his 14 years as head football coach. He also coached Clayton, NJ High School.
