Temple Women's Basketball Wins Exhibition Opener Over New York Gazelles, 59-54

Philadelphia-The Temple women's basketball team beat the N.Y. Gazelles, 59-54, tonight, at The Forum at the Apollo of Temple.

The Owls were led by second-year players Natalia Isaac (Falls Church, Va./Stuart) and Lisa Jakubowicz (Levittown, Pa./Conwell Egan). Isaac, a 5-7 guard, led the Owls in scoring with 21 points. Jakubowicz, a 6-1 center, scored 17 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.

Freshman guard Stacey Smalls (Cheltenham, Pa./Cheltenham) chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.
