Women Place Fourth In Petite Final

(Apr. 12, 1999) -- Temple University's men's and women's crews continued their seasons this past weekend (April 10) at the 12th Annual George Washington Invitational Crew Classic, held on the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.
The Temple University men's varsity eight, ranked No. 10 in the USRowing Collegiate Coaches Poll, defeated 12th-ranked Navy (second, 5:41.99) to capture first place with a time of 5:40.94. The boat included coxswain Reade Palmer, Jason Read, Nathan Swick, Sean Casey, Igor Francetic, Brendan Duke, Rod Bierheizen, Peter Gergo and Brendan Marzano.
The women's varsity eight placed fourth in the petite final with a time of 6:48.08. The boat included coxswain Katie Horn, Gianna Bigliani, Jeanette Carroll, Amy Giddings, Jana Heere, Sarah Klem, Clare Kobierowski, Amy Noble and Katherine Thompson.
