PHILADELPHIA - Owls' freshman goalkeeper Cornelius Murphy has been named Player of The Week in the Philadelphia Soccer Seven and the Atlantic 10 Conference rookie of the Weeks for the week ending October 22.

Murphy posted back to back road shutouts as the Owls' snapped an 11-game losing streak. Murphy registered 3 saves on Friday as Temple won a Soccer Seven game at LaSalle 3-0. Two days later, he made 6 saves in a 2-0 whitewash of Fordham.

On the season Murphy has a 2.16 (Goals Against Average) and a .763 save percentage. The 6 foot, 185 pound netminder is a native of Providence, Rhode Island and attended LaSalle Academy in the Ocean State.
